2 May - Alannah's 30th birthday @ Everton Park Hotel, DJ/Karaoke

Great fun. It was mostly the kids enjoying the karaoke, but the grown-ups must have loved it, there were still half the guests there near the end of the night! Definately the stand-out performance came from the birthday girl and a friend, who sang a song neither of them (or any of us) knew!!

17 & 18 April - Crows Nest Caravan Park

Two nights in the one venue, and yet so different! Friday night was loads of fun, lots of requests, some dancing and a little karaoke. Saturday night the Park was host for a school reunion - lots of catching up to be had. As someone who provides music to suit the audience and atmosphere I found Friday night to be more of a concert-type gig where I was the focus of attention, while Saturday night (with so much chat going on) I provided background music with loads of "toe-tapping".

11 April - Wedding, Woodlands at Marburg, Singer/DJ

Another totally awesome gig! The guests were definately ready for a party and filled the dance floor all night long. Even though I wasn't running  karaoke this time, the Best Man was on the microphone a few times through the night for a welcome sing, also joined at one stage by the Groom. Lovely speeches, beautiful Bride, a gorgeous venue and friendly staff.

14 March - Wedding, Cherrubah Resort, Singer/DJ

These guys really knew how to have a good time, and wouldn't let me leave at the end of the night. Lots of Country and Rock n Roll music, and no shortage of requests. The dance floor stayed full all night! The venue had it's own awesome, massive lighting system, so once I had that worked out mine went back in the car. The Bride and Groom shared a lovely first dance to 'Cowboy Take Me Away' even though I later heard the Groom say "I don't dance". A lovely venue and staff also.

13 March - Nurses Graduation, Singer/DJ

Held at the Toowoomba City Golf Club, a lovely venue, and it was nice not to travel far! Everyone seemed to have a great time enjoying the food and atmosphere, and Nutbush-ing the night away!

22 February - Sharne's Bat Mitzvah, DJ

Lots of speeches, lots of dancing, lots of fun! Each table had been named after Sharne's favourite singers - Beyonce, Pink, Avril Lavigne, and so on, and there was a lot of pink in the room! Sharne even delighted her guests by singing a song - and was an impressive singer.

16 January - Kid's Disco and Karaoke

Back to the Everton Park Hotel again, this time for the kids. The hotel holds great activities for children over school holidays, and this was the last night for these Christmas holidays. It would have been fantastic to have seen more children show up, but a great time was had by all regardless. The kids loved all the games, music, and karaoke. The staff seemed to have a great time too - and the children loved Dorothy, Bumblebee and Angel:

13 December - 50th Birthday Party, DJ/Karaoke, Western Line Hotel Oakey

Happy 50th Robert! A fun evening that lasted till the early hours of morning, with stand out karaoke performances of "2 out of 3 Ain't Bad" and "American Boy".

6 December - LJ Hooker Christmas Party, DJ/Karaoke

A lovely set-up in the marquee at Everton Park Hotel, and a very fun night with lots of singing and dancing. Most of the karaoke was done by the kids attending the party but stand out performances included all the Ladies with "Dancing Queen" and all the Boys with "Smells like Teen Spirit". Santa also made an appearance and was a big hit.

1 November - Roma Ladies Darts League Presentation Night, Singer

Last November I was Singer, DJ and Karaoke host for Cherie and Troy's wedding. Cherie is the President of the Ladies Darts League, she and the other ladies were keen to have me back as a singer for their annual presentation night. My PA system and cordless mic were also used during the presentation.

What a fun night! After the presentation of the many medals, trophies and plaques, there was a fashion parade - the men made rather gorgeous ladies! They then kept the fun going and had a dance while I sang "Man I Feel Like a Woman".

It was an incredibly hot evening, so it was great to see everyone dancing all night regardless. They seemed to be big fans of Rock and Roll, calling out "we love this rock stuff". Some requests included "Unchained Melody" by Righteous Bros, "Amazed" by Lonestar, "Down on the Corner" by CCR and "Everything" by Michael Buble.

25 October - unavailable for gigs...

I went and saw one of my idols, Stevie Wonder (!) at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre - simply perfect! Wonderful! Magical! A real dream come true.

5 October - Nicole and Nathan's Wedding, Singer/DJ/Karaoke

A gorgeous wedding at the Golden Ox, Margate. I sang "You and I" as Nicole made her way down the aisle and joined hands with Nathan. After the beautiful ceremony, and while photos were being taken, I sang some quiet background music before moving to set up inside for the reception.

In the reception room I was rather spoiled with a beautiful stage to set up on! The first dance song requested was for me to sing "This I Promise You"  by Ronan Keating - a gorgeous song, and a beautiful first dance by the bridal couple.

Nicole's parents both reassured me that I could decide everything to play, and alternate from Singer to DJ whenever I felt would suit, which worked very well for this laid-back crowd. Towards the end of the night we opened the floor to karaoke with the most memorable performances being Steven with "Bust a Move", a duet by Darryl (Father of the Bride), and Nathan (Groom) of "Hey Jude", and of course the Bridal couple with "You're the One I Want".

4 October - Vicki's 50th, Singer/DJ/Karaoke

Happy 50th Vicki! A great night, although quite hot. Many guests spent most of their time outside in the cool breeze, and I was singing to an empty room a lot! Vicki just asked for more volume so they could hear.

Some party-goers were still keen to have a dance regardless of the heat, and had a lot of fun.

13 Sept - Mansfield State School "Colours and Cultures Festival", DJ

It was great fun seeing all the dances organised by the students, each class had their own presentation. The cultural food on offer was amazing and music from all over the world was enjoyed by all.

12 September - Peak Crossing Fete, Singer

The entertainment line up included Kerryanne, Bernie Carson and Neil Duddy. A lot of fun was had by all, with rides, dances and fireworks at the end of the evening.
